Yi Hong

So today I found a very interesting and creative artist by the name of Yi Hong. She is that one remarkable artist that comes to us with a remarkable trait, skill, uniqueness of painting. Her paintbrush... she has no paintbrush she uses a basketball and paints Yao Ming portraits on a big canvass. Yi is a Chinese artist based in Shanghai, but has lived in Borneo in Indonesia, and in Australia before settling where she lives now.
Something that I really like about her is that she only uses a print of Yao Ming to study it and then goes of memory to reproduce the image with the paint and the basketball. This is much like the same way Jim Lee did his work when he use to do comic books and did work for Marvel comics and Image Studios, which in turn Jim would use inspiration and go by works of Michelangelo and Sargent for his comic book figures. Check out both Yi Hong and Jim Lee if you get a chance, Hit the links after the jump to discover this great artist, shes not only limited to a basketball and paint but also uses the bottom of a coffee cup to create amazing pieces of art with the overspill of the liquid. You just have to see to believe.
