In case you didnt know who HG Giger is, he is an amazing artist that deals with fantasy, scifi and is the innovator of the 'Alien' character that made the 'Alien' movie franchise very successful. Well it seems that a famous fashion designer, Alexander McQueen was so motivated that he actually made some high heels for the ladies that are in retrospect HG Giger-esque and I have to say that I think he pulled it off. However at the same time they are kinda ugly but they are just so cool! I am a very very big Giger and Alien fan and I am still contemplating weather I would buy a pair just to have in my collection. While we are on the subject of shoes and media/gaming, take a look at these other cool video game inspired heels/shoes for the ladies. This easily can go on and on forever because it not only stops for women but men also have cool inspired Nike/Converse shoes, however were just gonna highlight these at the moment till I find some cool guys shoes.
These shoes are great sculptural pieces. The Lady Gaga hoof-heel on the website is also very interesting. Body manipulation and distortions are fascinating. The organic feel to these reinterpretations of the common shoe is wonderful.
